Dozens of #FulaniHerdsmen have arrived Akwa Ibom State as part of the promise made by Mr Nsima Ekere and Senator Godswill Akpabio to the APC led Federal Government, to surrender hundreds of hectares of Land for the establishment of Cattle Colonies in some Local Government Areas Of the State.
The Nomadic herdsmen who were pictured holding campaign posters of Nsima Ekere looked excited in their new homes in the peaceful city of Uyo, Sure Reports can authoritatively report that more Fulani herdsmen would arrive Uyo in the next one week.
Many Akwa Ibomites were shocked recently when a letter from the former Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio was leaked to the public, revealing the promise by APC in the state to give out land to the federal government for the establishment of Cattle colonies in the State.
The APC chieftains had promised that with federal military support, the arrest of more PDP chieftains through “Federal Might” they would win the forthcoming elections in the state.
The Fulani herdsmen pictured two days ago at the Ekere Campaign Office in Uyo chanted songs of victory and promised to assist APC won the governorship of the state, in order to secure the colonies.
“It is unheard of in any South-South State, that Fulani herdsmen from the Northern part of Nigeria are campaigning for candidates of any party, this is happening in Akwa Ibom State because of promises of Cattle colonies for them,” a group, Akwa Ibom Conscience Movement echoed.
“We are disappointed that Mr Ekere would agree to mortgage the future of the state for no justifiable reason, except his selfish ambition.
“Why can’t they use their connection with the centre to bring projects and industries honour state instead of giving out our land for cattle colonies?
“We call on all Akwa Ibomites and security agencies to be watchful of the activities of these herdsmen during this election season,” they added.
