Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has replaced John Abang, with Hyelasinda Musa Kimo, as the new Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State.

Recall that the outgoing Commissioner of Police, John Abang, had on Monday, prevented thugs suspected to be sponsored by the APC from invading the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

The development, sources say did not go down well with APC Chieftains in the State, including a former DIG, Okpoudom who is said to have engineered the replacement of the immediate past Commissioner of Police.

Okpoudom is said to have direct links with the IGP and allegedly instructed that a new Commissioner of Police who will act on the instructions of Akwa Ibom APC Chieftains, be deployed to the State.

Meanwhile, reports say that the new Commissioner of Police has been directed to seal the premises of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, any time soon.
