The Esit Eket local government Chapter Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Michael Alfred has commended governor Udom Emmanuel for the intervention of a road in Esit Eket which has been a death trap for too long casing the people of the area unnecessary pains in plying that route. According to him, he has witnessed about three accidents at a particular spot on theat particular road which he was also a victim of one of the accident but come out unhurt.
According to Michael Alfred on his post on Facebook, “Recently, I saw a work going on in that location. Initially, I thought it was the federal government intervention agency, NDDC that is doing the work and as usual, I wanted to discredit Gov. Udom for passing through that road to do a thanksgiving at Uquo but can’t do anything about it.”
He went further to thanked the governor for embarking on the construction of that road, saying it is good to thank someone for doing the little so as to attrat the big one.
Below is his post unedited:
“I am very partizan. But then I would not allow my partisanship to becloud my sense of reasoning. We’re not great-fools not to be grateful.
“Let me talk about the ongoing work in Ekpeneobo, Esit Eket LGA. The drainage control work.
“This road was a serious dead trap during rainy day, even more risky in the night. The pit caused by erosion in this road was more than 6ft deep and it kept expanding to the middle of the road until this remedy came. In fact, One got to be extremely careful when passing here.
“I have witnessed three fatal accident there and personally involved in one. But I survived because am not a dying type.
“Recently, i saw a work going on in that location. Initially, I thought it was the federal government intervention agency, NDDC that is doing the work and as usual, I wanted to discredit Gov. Udom for passing through that road to do a thanksgiving at Uquo but can’t do anything about it.
“Few days ago, some of my brothers in other side posted the said road on social media attributing the handiwork to Gov. Udom Emmanuel led state government. I wasn’t satisfied because i can only believe on investigative report. So, I went to the construction site to do my own finding.
“The truth is Gov. Udom led government is actually the one doing the project and from the seriousness I saw from the workers, there is no way the project won’t be completed in a shot while.
Yes, this is the area where monies used in developing the state comes from and some people may thing the project is too small compares to what is happening in other part of the state.
“But then, as Christian, we’re taught to appreciate little things in other to attract the bigger ones. I am beginning to see good things in Udom Emmanuel’s administration.
“My late uncle usually said ‘e no good, e no good but e dey help’.
