The Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio recently told a campaign group that he only received N1.7 trillion in the eight years of his tenure.
He was lying through his teeth as statistics from the Federal Allocation Committee published by a group known as Akwa Ibom Coalition for Probity (AICP) indicates that Akpabio collected a whopping N2.5 trillion with no much to show.
Right groups have persistently called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to investigate former Gov Akpabio but all entreaties have fallen on deaf ears.
The groups argued that if you Akpabio claims he collected only N1.7 trillion while the record from the Federal Allocation indicates N2.5trillion, where is the rest of the money?
The group lamented that Akpabio ran to APC to take refuge against indictment because he was petitioned and Buhari who claims to be fighting corruption has since absorbed him into his party.
